First-Year Course Registration Webinar: Tips for Computer Science Students

Starting university comes with a lot of exciting decisions — including choosing your first courses. Join us for a live webinar designed to help new Bachelor of Computer Science and Bachelor of Applied Computer Science students feel confident and prepared ahead of course registration opening on May 30.

During this session, a member of our Academic Advising team will walk you through how to register for classes, what courses you should plan to take in your first year, and how to avoid common registration mistakes. You’ll also hear from a current computer science student, who will share practical tips from their own experience selecting courses and planning their degree.

Whether you're unsure where to start or just want to make sure you're on the right track, this session will give you the information and confidence you need to begin planning your first year at Dalhousie.

    What you’ll learn:

    • How to register for courses using Dalhousie’s system

    • Recommended first-year courses for BCS and BACS students

    • Tips for building a balanced schedule

    • Advice from a current student on planning your degree

There will also be time for live questions at the end of the session. If you have any questions, please reach out to Amanda Johnson (Amanda.johnson@dal.ca)
