"Many Voices, One Place" is an interactive group activity that simulates planning in the real world. Students will learn firsthand how people collaborate to tackle the complex challenges of planning in cities, towns, and rural areas. Current BPS students will be participating to answer any questions and share first-hand perspective.
In this interactive session, you’ll get a hands-on look at what happens in a typical first-year psychology lab. Using the Human-to-Human Interface activity, you'll explore how electrical signals from the brain control movement and even use your own brain signals to control the movement of someone else. The session concludes with time for questions about Psychology and Neuroscience programs.

Dalhousie's Integrated Science Program (DISP) explores the natural world through a collaborative, multidisciplinary lens, giving you the clarity and confidence to choose your ideal specialization. Through exploration of connections between disciplines this program prepares you to enter any major or combination of majors within the Faculty of Science. Within your first year you will start to gain a broad scientific background, and develop critical thinking and research skills. DISP takes you beyond the classroom through labs, field trips, and original research. You will start to develop your scientific identity by exploring science ethics, designing studies and collaborating with peers and experts.

Professor MacIntosh will demonstrate the importance of philosophy in dealing with real world issues. He will speak on ethical issues in global conflict, e.g., justice in methods of war fighting, and resolving conflict between different political and economic systems; and he will seek feedback on issues recently of concern to a U.S. think tank he's associated with, issues such as how to deal with domestic violent extremism, and whether to try to make Super Soldiers by means of drugs, computer/brain interface, or surgical and mechanical strength enhancement.
